Aylesford School operates a bio-metric system for cashless catering. The system enables students to pay in advance for their meals by crediting their account on cash machines situated in the dining areas. The system also enables parents and carers to credit their child’s account by using ParentPay, a system which allows accounts to be credited online or by using PayPoint centres located in local retailers displaying the Paypoint sign. The bio-metric system uses the fingerprint of the student and the software calculates a huge digital number from the image, and it is the number itself which is stored as a personal identification number. The actual fingerprint image is NOT stored. When a student uses the fingerprint scanner, the scanner recalculates the number and recognises the student. Such software is now being used worldwide as a means of providing additional personal security.
Students and parents can be reassured that this system has a very high level of security and that it is not possible to reconstruct the original fingerprint. The system does contain an option for the use of a PIN number instead of the bio-metric for those students whose parents specifically advise the school of
A good, well-managed homework programme helps children and young people to develop the skills and attitudes they will need for successful lifelong learning. Homework also supports the development of independent learning skills and provides parents with an opportunity to take part in their children's education. Ownership of homework by the subject teacher provides opportunities to reinforce the high expectations which are formed and established within the classroom.
Learning at home is an essential part of a good education. Regular homework is important as it gives students the opportunity to practice at home the tasks covered in class, and helps the student to work towards improving important learning and thinking skills. It also helps children and young people to become confident and independent in their learning, which will help throughout their time at school and later in adult life.

T he Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) specialises in investigating grooming and sexual abuse online. The ‘Click CEOP’ report button provides a means of reporting abuse online and can be downloaded onto the school website for easy access.
CEOP also have an educational website: www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents which has specific advice for parents/carers.
If you believe a child or adult is in immediate danger, contact 999 for police assistance. To report non-emergency concerns, call 101 and ask to be put through to your local team. Kent Police also have Online Safety advice on their website.

We appreciate that the transition from Primary School to Secondary School can be daunting experience for both students and their parents/carers. Therefore we encourage year 6 pupils and their families to take full advantage of the transition events that we offering in order to support the transition process. This includes our Family Fun Day taking place at Aylesford School, after school taster sessions, open evening and tours of the school that take place every Tuesday morning with myself or one of the Deputy Head Teachers.

Sixth Form Code of Conduct
As role models to younger students within the school it is important that our Sixth Form students are dressed appropriately.Students should come into Sixth Form in a business-like and purposeful way.The dress code for males and females is as follows:
Shirt and tie
Students can choose to wear suits or a tailored jacket.
Appropriate length skirt/dress or trousers
Cardigan or jacket
Girls are permitted to wear discreet make up
For health and safety reasons, students may wear a watch and a discreet pair of
The following items are not permitted
Jeans of any colour
Flip flops/high heels/trainers/UGG boots
Shoulders, backsides, midriff and cleavage should be covered.
If Sixth Form students come to school wearing clothes that are inappropriate in any way, they will be sent home to change.
Mobile phone policy: Students are allowed to use their phones within 6th form areas in Wembley only – they must not be visible at all on the rest of the school site, in order to comply with the whole school policy.
