Mr C Guthrie
In order for Aylesford School - Sports College to be a great school, meticulous attention must be paid to every aspect of our provision – the quality of our teaching, our curriculum, our premises, our resources, our care.
Our ambition is for every child who attends this school to leave equipped with the best qualifications, skills and confidence to confront the challenges life throws at them with courage and a strong sense of moral purpose.
At Aylesford School - Sports College we have a strong ethos based on high personal and academic expectations that underpin everything we do. We want our students to be confident and ambitious as well as being compassionate and tolerant.
Exam success will get you the interview but it won’t get you the job. As such we expect our students to do as well as they can at school and to take full advantage of the many academic and extra-curricular activities that are presented to them.
Our vision and values are demonstrated by our students every day, where their tenacity and determination are a constant source of inspiration. I am immensely proud to be Headteacher and acutely aware of the responsibilities the role entails. By taking our lead from Roald Amundsen, we will work together to help your child identify and then reach their own South Pole.
Charlie Guthrie, Headteacher
I may say that this is the greatest factor: the way in which the expedition is equipped, the way in which every difficulty is foreseen, and precautions taken for meeting or avoiding it. Victory awaits him who has everything in order, luck, people call it.
