Welcome to Sixth Form

We have an exciting and progressive Sixth Form and we value all of our students as individuals, providing them with the opportunity to develop life skills, as well as to study academic and vocational subjects. We place a high importance on individual learning, team work, initiative and good citizenship.

Our aim is to release the potential in every student and provide them with excellent transferable skills.  Our Key Stage 5 curriculum provides opportunities for students to select a range of different qualifications according to their individual interests and career plans.  Work at Sixth Form level is challenging. All students are well supported by their subject teachers and thrive in the happy, caring and high-achieving atmosphere we create. A large majority of our students go on to exceed the targets based on their GCSE results. Success is expected.

Each student has an experienced Mentor who monitors their progress, helps guide their decisions, values them as an individual and cares for them throughout their academic years.  We work closely with parents providing regular feedback on student’s progress and well-being, whilst working in partnership to support the students’ development into young adults.

We have a dedicated Sixth Form Area, where students can study, complete homework, carry out research tasks, develop personal statements as part of their UCAS application or undertake enrichment activities such as the completion of the Extended Project Qualification.  Our Guidance and Support Manager creates an inclusive environment, meeting the needs of our students and supporting them through each stage of Sixth Form life.

We have a well-deserved reputation for excellence, both for our enrichment scheme and our examination results. Over 50% of our students choose to go to University and, each year, every student who applies gains a place due to their excellent work ethic and our unique voluntary work scheme.  Whilst many of our students progress to Further Education and University, for others their time in our Sixth Form provides a very good route into the world of work and fulfilling careers.

Admission to Sixth Form is through Kent Choices 4 U and we look forward to receiving your application.
