Homework in Drama

Key Stage 3

Homework reinforces classroom learning through rehearsal, script reading, theatre evaluation, character development, design tasks and retrieval of key terminology. Students complete research and reading activities that develop disciplinary literacy, encourage independent learning and prepare them for practical performance whilst fostering positive rehearsal habits.

Key Stage 4

Homework extends classroom learning through contextual research, script analysis, rehearsal, writing in role, practitioner research and independent preparation for practical performance. Students investigate Naturalism, Theatre in Education, Verbatim Theatre and historical contexts such as twentieth-century borstals, developing disciplinary literacy, independent learning habits and the research skills required for GCSE Drama.
