Aylesford School will be hosting a number of transition events and opportunities throughout this term and we are delighted to invite year 6 students and their parents/carers to attend. We appreciate that the transition from primary school to secondary school can be a daunting experience for both students and their parents/carers. Therefore, we encourage students to take full advantage of the opportunity to look around the school to support the transition process.

The vision for Aylesford School is to provide ‘an education that builds character’ - high quality Academic and Character Education which develops confident young people who are successful learners and contribute positively to society. This is underpinned by our strap line ‘Courage, Confidence, Character’.
We firmly believe that every student regardless of background or ability can achieve whatever they want with hard work and determination. We are passionate about ensuring that students reach their potential at Aylesford School and believe that if students develop good character strengths, they will be successful at whatever they try. At Aylesford School my staff and I have developed a ‘Can Do’ attitude and are prepared to do whatever it takes to maintain high standards and continually improve progress and attainment. We recognise that strong positive relationships are key, as is celebration of success.
Teaching and Learning are at the forefront of everything that we do and our teachers will stretch and challenge students, provide support when needed and be a source of inspiration.
It is also really important to us that students enjoy school and we are always looking for opportunities to promote this. Students will have opportunities to participate in sporting activities, performing arts, charity events, cultural visits which will help to nurture their talents and hopefully provide a love of school – we want students to be happy.
Aylesford School will be hosting a Year 6 Open Evening on Tuesday 22nd September 2026; 4:00pm-7:00pm and would like to invite students in year 6 and their parents/carers to attend. Open Evening is usually a hugely popular event that attracts vast amounts of the public and includes our whole staffing body as well as our students. There will be two Headteacher speeches taking place at specific times throughout the evening. This event is an excellent opportunity to view the school and engage with staff and students currently attending to provide all the information needed to decide on a secondary school.
